Orange County ArtWalks Where Artists Come First

Orange County’s is home to 3 million residents who enjoy a perfect climate in which parks and beaches provide abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. Whether you’re visiting for exciting professional sports, wide range of tourist attractions or visual and performing arts, you’re sure to soak up as much culture and you do sun rays in Orange County California.

But did you know Orange County host 4 separate art walk events each month with a website and social media especially designed to showcase the hundreds of individual artists who participate?

Although the OC ArtWalk website lost a bit of steam last year, without recent post to add to it’s already over flowing artists database, their Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages have picked up more than enough slack in support of individual talent. Few days go by without a featured artist and their works via their well-kept social media platforms, providing a most aesthetic way to promote Orange Counties finest.

Let’s take a look at their monthly Art Walk events.

First Fridays Art Walk in Fullerton
Historic Downtown Fullerton is a program developed and promoted by the Downtown Art Community and retailers who bring citizens to the historical and cultural center of the city and to highlight Fullerton’s creative artists and public art venues. It is made of many independent venues, serving as galleries that feature local, original work from 6pm to 9pm. The incredibly popular Art Walk brings hundreds of art enthusiasts to the streets of downtown Fullerton, where various venues host art exhibits, music acts, and performance art. There are over thirty venues offering free art activities and exhibition openings within walking distance of each other.  Free refreshments are also provided throughout the evening at many of the stops.

The First Saturday of the Month in Santa Ana brings a spectacular Art Walk to Downtown Santa Ana with arts, crafts and live entertainment centrally located at: Artists Village – Second Street Promenade (2nd & Broadway) & the Santiago Arts Colony (Santa Ana Blvd. & Poinsettia) keeping up with their city’s mission to facilitate the enhancement of Downtown Santa Ana as a vibrant shopping, dining, entertainment, business and cultural destination for all.

First Thursday at Laguna Beach Art Walk –  Since 1998, the art season in Laguna Beach flourishes year round with First Thursdays Art Walk as an educational monthly art event, held on the first Thursday of every month from 6 – 9pm. The event celebrates the diverse cultural art scene of Laguna Beach with a mission to promote Laguna Beach as a leading year-round destination and community of fine art galleries. Laguna Beach Art Walk is run by a  501-c(3) non-profit organization committed to supporting our member galleries; serving the community by cultivating an appreciation for the arts; and providing a high quality educational experience for art students through the annual Mentoring Program with Laguna College of Art + Design.

Every 3rd Thursday of each month from March to October Huntington Beach holds an Art Walk  from 6-9pm on 5th Street and Olive. They culminate the year in November for an Invitational Showcase that features established, emerging, and student artists with unique and unusual presentations at host locations throughout the downtown.
