South Carolina Jazz Fest Seeks Artisans

October 16 – 18. Over 20 regional musical artists from the Carolinas will perform in an eclectic collection of venues. Add a Bebop Parade, Early Jazz and Late Night Jazz Restaurant Venues, the Dizzy Gillespie Scholarship Golf Tournament, a Birthday Party for Dizzy, kids’ art activities, Madonnari-Southern Style Chalk Competition, a Jazz Mass, a 5K run/walk and much more while you experience the joy of jazz from your head down to your toes!

Featured inside the event is the Historic Cheraw Cell Phone Tour a free self-guided tour leads to over 25 points of interest, including Dizzy Gillespie Park, the Gillespie’s home church, and the school Dizzy attended.

Categories include: Painting, Photography, Drawing and Graphics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Watercolor, Wood , Clay, Digital Art, Drawing and Graphics. Only original work will be accepted with no imported, mass-produced or manufactured items allowed.

Interested artists must submit photos of work to lbennett@cheraw.com and include contact information or mail to Cheraw Arts Commission PO BOX 219 Cheraw, SC 29520 by September 30. No registration fee is required. Accepted artists will be notified by October 2 or before. Registration/information forms will be forwarded to participating artists with acceptance notification.
